The theme of both the texts is travel and tourism, however the content of both texts differ. The article addresses the ongoing issue's that are occurring on the Caribbean Islands, whilst at the same time it is informing the developers, investors and the general public what is currently on going in the Caribbean's. Whereas the advertisement is informing the higher/middle class people about cruise and convincing them of the quality of the cruise through the use of feasibility and benefits of the cruise.

  1. Your introduction establishes the general difference between the two text types by identifying one as a "Descriptive advertisement" and the other as an "informative article". In addition to this, you also were able to present a brief summary of the context of both texts. Although I wasn't quite sure where your thesis statement was, it is clear that you know the differences between two.
EBI: Your thesis includes a "so what" statement.

  2. You did well in identifying and common theme of travel and tourism and the fact that the two texts are similar yet also contrast in some ways. You made a clear distinction between the two given texts, but it would be better if you added a 'so what' statement to make the piece better. :)

  3. Your introduction is really good as it covered most of the required points. You've set the context of both texts and identified the themes of them. youve also made a strong thesis statement with the "so what" statement. perhaps add some detail to your introduction that include a somewhat quick overview of both texts to ease the reader into the potential essay. good job thoooo xxx
